(Expected to be May 2nd, 2012)
There have been some fellow fans of Animal Crossing who emailed Nintendo asking about a release date for Animal Crossing for the 3ds. According to some of these people, Nintendo has emailed them back with the release date of May 2nd, 2011!
To me that is great news, because there were other possible release dates next year including August 2012 and November 2012. I'd be really upset if the release date was set for November. It's important to blog this, because every fan has been anxious and asking about this info since the first screenshots of the upcoming game appeared at E3 2010. I don't think Nintendo needed to release screenshots of the new Animal Crossing then, because when people saw those, they were expecting the game in 2011. Although I guess it really builds up the excitement, because everybody is getting impatient waiting for it.
So now you have the info, and all seems well... but you need to know something: this release date could just be a placeholder. I don't think anyone should worry, because Nintendo has confirmed that it will be released in the time period March- June. So the latest it would be released is June.
